Billy Carson Bunton

Billy Carson Bunton, 69, of Du Quoin, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 3:55 p.m. at Marshall Browning Hospital.
Services were Friday, December 6, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel in Du Quoin with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 and from 7:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Bunton was a waterproofing contractor for 45 years.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Du Quoin and Du Quoin VFW Post 513. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Bunton was born February 8, 1933 in Du Quoin to Carson and Ruth (Hunter) Bunton. He married Shirley Hackelman in July of 1954 in Du Quoin and later married Jessie Gieger on January 23, 1989 at  Louisville.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert Bunton of Du Quoin and Brad and Karen Bunton of Du Quoin; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rex Piper of Herrin; brother James Bunton of Du Quoin; brothers and sisters-in-law Danny and Ruthie Bunton of Du Quoin and Jerry and Phyllis Bunton of Dowell; eight grandchildren Michael Bunton, Blain Bunton, Stacey Bunton, Rachel Bunton, Rex Piper, John Piper, Amber Bunton and Ashley Bunton and two great grandchildren Autumn Bunton and Madison Bunton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steve, and two brothers, David and Michael.
